Haar verhaal: Mental Imagery and Emotional Disorders: From flashbacks to flash-forwards.

"We experience mental imagery when we see in our mind’s eye, hear with our mind’s ear, and so on. Imagery has fascinating properties allowing us to pre-experience the world and make creative leaps. It can also cause profound distress, such as flashbacks in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Problematic imagery can also occur across other psychological disorders e.g. depression and bipolar disorder. This talk will interweave experimental evidence concerning imagery with clinical research, suggesting that harnessing imagery will be useful for treatment innovation."
